...Shortly after we left and headed over to Shinjuku National Garden Gyoen.
Shinjuku Gyoen (新宿御苑) is one of Tokyo's largest and most popular parks. Located just a short walk fromShinjuku Station, the paid park's spacious lawns, meandering walking paths and tranquil scenery provide a relaxing escape from the busy urban center around it. In spring Shinjuku Gyoen becomes one of the best places in the city to see cherry blossoms. Shinjuku Gyoen originated during the Edo Period (1603-1867) as a feudal lord's Tokyo residence. Later it was converted into a botanical garden before being transferred to the Imperial Family in 1903 who used used it for recreation and the entertainment of guests. The park was almost completely destroyed during World War II, but was eventually rebuilt and reopened in 1949 as a public park.

Michelle and I headed over to this park right after walking through the "bum" infested park next to the Hyatt. At this point, it was already about 830-9am, and we were looking to kill some time before going to Tri-Force Jiu Jitsu Academy in Shinjuku. So we goofed around the park... After walking for about 10 mins we found a little garden shrine-like hut where we sat down and decided to eat breakfast.
We have this on-going tradition where we buy a Jollibee spam breakfast sandwiches the day before we travel anywhere and eat it for breakfast and lunch on the first day to save money. At one dollar a piece, its a great bargain! You can see me here stuffing my face with it.
On a slightly off topic, I've been noticing people lately on Facebook, where they take these awesome vacations and they take pictures with serious faces while putting up the right hands with 3 fingers up... As if they're having a horrible time in paradise... Like in that crazy movie Hunger Games... REALLY??? So I decided to take it a knotch better... I may actually start a photo album labeled as "Sad Faces in Awesome Places" as a big FU... (Check it out! You can see the little garden shrine-like hut in the back ground!)
Anyway, enough with my rant. We decided to start heading back, as it already was about 945am, to my class with Tri-Force Jiu Jitsu Academy...
